Aruba Destination Weddings Venues

Perhaps best known for the luxury high-rise hotels of Palm Beach, the resorts of Aruba offer elegant accommodations with plenty of amenities, and several include beachfront property perfect for a destination wedding or reception. Many Aruba hotels offer wedding services, packages, and planners experienced in putting on flawless events, so take advantage of what’s available to you! A coordinator in particular can help eliminate the difficulties of planning a wedding from afar, and they know all the rules, best locations, and technicalities of the island, whether you stay on-site or head elsewhere.

For couples who desire large and upscale hotels, head to the high-rise area of Palm Beach on the west coast of Aruba. Tourists flock to this spot because of its prime location, conveniently close to the beach as well as shopping, restaurants, bars, casinos, and plenty of other things to keep you and your guests busy. The atmosphere here is sophisticated and dazzling, with plenty of people to meet and talk to, as well as excellent service and lots of wedding locations to choose from. These hotels offer some of the most elaborate wedding packages and the widest variety of services, and couples booking here can relax and enjoy the exhilarating atmosphere while someone else manages the details. While convenience and luxury are certainly among the perks, keep in mind that this is one of the most crowded and developed areas of Aruba, and you may encounter difficulty in finding a quiet or private spot in which to hold your ceremony.

For more low-key accommodations, head to Eagle or Manchebo Beach to book at a low-rise resort. Still close to many of the major attractions, but with the added bonus of a more tranquil and less-crowded atmosphere, the low-rise resorts offer the perfect blend for couples that prefer some privacy during their wedding proceedings. These hotels also frequently offer wedding services, coordinators, and a variety of potential ceremony locations, all in a slightly more relaxed and laidback atmosphere. Although they contain fewer rooms, occasionally fewer amenities, and lack the mega-sized features of the Palm Beach hotels, the tradeoff here is quiet moments in beautiful locations for a wonderful Aruba destination wedding experience.

For those who desire even more privacy than the low-rise hotels offer, consider booking at one of the many guesthouses or villas throughout the island. Although you must often provide your own vendors and coordinator at these locations, the extra room and intimate atmosphere make the experience well worth it. Below, we’ve listed just a few of these hotels (the majority of them found on Palm Beach, as these offer the most extensive wedding services) to help get you started.

Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort

Resting right on beautiful Palm Beach, the high-rise Divi Aruba Phoenix Resort combines a convenient and beautiful location with upscale, luxury facilities and surroundings, perfect for any Aruba destination wedding. The hotel itself offers two restaurants and a deli, pool, fitness center, tennis courts, and spa services to keep you and your guests comfortable and occupied throughout your stay!

Of course, this resort also offers the perfect location for your Aruba destination ceremony, reception, or both. With space for a wedding party of up to 300 guests and reduced room rates available for large groups, booking stays simple, while a variety of wedding packages ensure that every couple is matched with a plan for their perfect day. Hold your ceremony right on Palm Beach, or anywhere throughout the resort’s beautiful grounds for a Caribbean wedding you won’t soon forget!

The beaches of Aruba truly evoke the satisfaction of a perfect island paradise – flat, white sand shores with crystal blue waters, sprinkled liberally with palm trees and happy visitors from around the world. All of the beaches in Aruba are public regardless of hotel proximity (although you must pay to use hotel lounge chairs, umbrellas, rental equipment, and so on.)

To the north and south lie the hotels, resting on the aforementioned perfect beaches – with plenty of amenities available, and easy access to anything you might possibly need, many visitors consider these spots just about perfect. These locations lend themselves naturally to Aruba destination weddings – check into one of the hotels, hold your wedding right on the sand, and then enjoy the reception and honeymoon facilities that lie only seconds away. While these beaches tend to draw more visitors than the eastern or northern ends of the island, their luxury and world-renowned beauty makes them absolutely ideal for a wedding celebration.

For the daring couple who prefers something outside of the box, head to the eastern or northern side of the island. These rocky shores offer dramatic views, excellent photo opportunities, and wildly gorgeous, often empty romantic spots perfect for small ceremonies. If you can live without restrooms, don’t mind a bit of a drive to get there, and want to see Aruba at its most pristine and beautiful, than this may be the location for you. Beaches such as Dos Playa and Boca Prins, with their fierce waves and rocky cliffs, will move you with their empty and stunning surroundings.

Be aware that some beaches in Aruba likely hold topless sunbathers. Complete nudity is illegal and offensive to the Arubans who make their home on the island. However, some resorts permit topless sunbathing on the beaches, and even on the quiet eastern and northern shores you may encounter people taking full advantage of their private surroundings. For the most part, this remains discreet, and shouldn’t cause a problem for your beach wedding ceremony – people tend to cover up when not lying quietly on the sand.

Manchebo Beach (Punto Brabo)

On the westernmost tip of Aruba sits a wide stretch of white sand known as Manchebo Beach, a popular destination with visitors. Easily accessible from the road or the nearby hotel, couples should encounter no difficulties in getting their entire wedding party plus supplies to this area! One of the largest beaches in Aruba, the sugar sand runs directly into the turquoise waters, a beautiful background for any destination wedding ceremony. The beach extends outwards into the appropriately named Punto Brabo (literally, Angry Point), where the waves crash a bit more forcefully onto the shore – not ideal for swimming, but perfect for dramatic photographs!

The beach remains relatively quiet throughout the year, despite the nearby Manchebo Beach Resort and Spa – the huts and lounge chairs of the resort sprinkle the beach, but are only available for hotel guests. Note that topless sunbathers sometimes frequent this area, so if you take offense easily you may want to look for a different location.

The natural beauty and laidback atmosphere create the perfect setting for a barefoot beach wedding – consider checking into the hotel for the extra benefits of wedding planners and the nearby facilities!

Palm Beach

One of the most sought-after beaches in Aruba, and consistently considered among the most beautiful, Palm Beach fills every traveler’s fantasy of the perfect Caribbean setting – calm waters that gently lap at the white sand shores, ideal for swimming, walking, or gazing out across the stunning blue shades of the sea. A border of palm trees offers a welcome shady retreat from the intense Aruba sun. This idyllic scenery bordered with high-rise hotels, restaurants, and bars melds convenience with beauty, perfect for a destination wedding scenario.

At about 2 miles in length, Palm Beach offers a number of great spots perfect for exchanging vows! Easily accessible to visitors from the road or from the hotels, this large beach allows for anything from a 2-person ceremony to a large gathering – consider booking with one of the area hotels for great additional services. While Palm Beach excels in the areas of beauty and convenience, it also tends to draw a crowd – the area is very kid-friendly, with lots of water sports and other activities for families. Couples are likely to see boats in the water, hear lots of background noise, and experience the general traffic of the area. If you worry about crowds becoming an issue, you may want to shoot for earlier or later in the day to avoid the worst of them.

Eagle Beach

Situated between Palm and Manchebo Beach on the western side of Aruba, Eagle Beach offers yet another idyllic atmosphere for a destination wedding. This area receives less traffic than Palm Beach, although it is still a popular destination – you may occasionally experience crowds, particularly on weekends and holidays. Despite a little background noise, the tranquil atmosphere at Eagle Beach, along with the stunning soft white sand fading into calm blue water, creates a perfect location for your wedding ceremony, or for just hanging out on your honeymoon! Palapas and lounge chairs dot the shore from the hotels across the street, and a smattering of palm trees provide shade for non-hotel guests. Eagle Beach also offers picnic areas, perfect for a casual reception or celebration. The area is incredibly popular for motorized water sports, so watch the horizon for boats cutting through the crystal-clear water.

Baby Beach

An incredibly peaceful spot on the southern-most tip of Aruba, Baby Beach consists of a man-made semi-circle shaped cove, where the water always stays calm and shallow. Families with small children sometimes travel here to take advantage of the great wading conditions! With excellent snorkeling and a sense of quiet isolation, this location takes you far from the bustle and crowds of modern Aruba. No hotels ring the area, so noise stays to a minimum – if you don’t mind transporting your supplies and yourselves, this is usually a great benefit for a wedding ceremony. A refreshment stand provides snacks and cool drinks during the day, and another offers umbrella rentals for shade.

For those picky about their scenery, know that a large oil refinery sits in the background of this beach, clearly visible from the shore. While it hardly diminishes the beauty and tranquility of the setting, some couples may appreciate knowing about its presence beforehand.

Arashi Beach

A gently curving beach on the northwest tip of Aruba, this lovely spot lures visitors with calm blue waters that lap gently against the narrow strip of sugar white sand, and a peaceful atmosphere with relatively few crowds. No facilities or hotels sit on Arashi Beach, but huts down the length of the sand provide welcome shade. The shallow and exceptionally clear water allows for great snorkeling and swimming, and locals frequent the area. The perfect combination of tranquility combined with enticing scenery, Arashi makes a lovely choice for your Aruba destination wedding.

Dos Playa

Located on the rugged eastern side of the island, Dos Playa offers an ideal setting for couples who want isolation, dramatic scenery, and a unique setting all of their own. If you don’t mind a bit of a drive (Dos Playa sits about 30 minutes from most hotels, accessible by Jeep or 4-wheeler), the rocks and crags surrounding the small beach create a wildly beautiful background for exchanging your vows. With extremely strong tides and large waves, avoid swimming in this area, but keep an eye out for the surfers on their boards! The extreme privacy comes at a price, however – no facilities, restrooms, restaurants, or homes surround this location, and couples must provide any supplies themselves. As this beach is part of the Arikok National Park, an events permit may be necessary depending on the size of your party.

Boca Prins

Situated inside the Arikok National Park on the eastern side of Aruba, Boca Prins offers stunning scenery far from any kind of development. Explore the tiny stretch of sand framed by two dramatic cliffs, the dark craggy rocks rising far above your head as waves crash onto the shore before you. While this site might not be the most convenient location in Aruba (most access it through use of a 4-wheeler or Jeep), it certainly remains untouched, beautiful, and far from crowds of tourists. Enjoy an intimate ceremony, just the two of you and the natural Caribbean in all of its glory. A wedding permit may be necessary to use this National Park site, depending on the size of your party.

Renaissance Island (Sonesta Island)

To relax on the only private beach in Aruba, head to Renaissance Island, owned by the Renaissance Aruba Beach Resort and Casino. Non-guests must purchase a $50 day pass at the hotel front desk, but the cost is well worth it. Experience your own delightful island paradise with fewer crowds, a tranquil Caribbean atmosphere, and 2 private lagoon-style beaches: Flamingo, an adult-only tops-optional area, and Iguana, accessible to everyone. With 40 acres total, Renaissance Island also offers a tennis court, restaurant, fitness center, and Spa Cove, a romantic area perfect for relaxing couples massages. Comfortable hammocks and lounge chairs lay spread across the island, and the beautiful white sand beaches invite napping, swimming in the calm water, and of course, intimate wedding ceremonies. There’s even a cove set aside for romantic weddings, with beautiful views of the Caribbean Sea. Book through the Renaissance Beach Resort to plan your wedding, or consider making a romantic day trip for your honeymoon!

For couples that want extra intimacy in a romantic setting for their destination wedding, why not consider renting an Aruba villa? Picture your wedding in a beautiful private home, with plenty of space for hors d'oeuvres, dancing, dinner, and whatever else you can dream up! Hire a private wedding planner to transform your rental into a tropical destination wedding dream, and don’t worry about a single detail. Many villas come with beachfront property, and luxurious additions such as Jacuzzis, swimming pools, tennis courts, and more, and you can always choose to staff them with chefs, cleaning services, and whatever else you might need. A variety of villas lay spread across Aruba in different sizes and styles – pick one to hold just the two of you for a romantic honeymoon, one that sleeps 20 people for a big wedding, or anything in between! Without crowds of tourists, couples can hold their ceremonies wherever and however they prefer, without worrying about background noise or people staring. A villa rental provides the perfect solution for a private ceremony that still allows couples to celebrate amidst the beauty of Aruba!

Natural Bridges

Seven natural bridges rest in Aruba, arches of limestone carved out by waves that gracefully stretch over the Caribbean Sea. These bridges create naturally romantic locations, with the spray of the water and sound of the waves below you and views of Aruba spreading out before you – perfect for a small but unforgettable destination wedding ceremony.

The largest and most well known of these (known simply as “the Natural Bridge”) collapsed on the northeastern coast in 2005 – it formerly drew visitors from all across the world wishing to catch glimpses of the majestic formation. Even today, people come to witness the remains, as if paying homage to its previous glory. But worry not, for the other bridges of Aruba still provide beautiful wedding locations, including Baby Bridge close to the ruins. This site offers the same accessibility and views as the original, allowing couples to complete their vows suspended over the ocean in a truly unique, natural Caribbean setting.

Historical Town Hall (Civil Registry Office)

For couples that want a civil ceremony, head to the charming Town Hall in downtown Oranjestad, where small ceremonies take place with a minimum of hassle. The mansion manages to appear refined and distinctly Caribbean at the same time, with elegant rooms inside and quaint surrounding walls outside. Once a private residence, the Aruban government purchased the house in 1986, and the distinctive green and white building now holds numerous happy wedding ceremonies every year.

Civil ceremonies take place Wednesday through Friday in the late morning or early afternoon, or Saturdays in the late morning for $150 extra. Enjoy your simple wedding ceremony, and then head off to celebrate in Oranjestad or to explore the many sites and natural wonders of Aruba for your honeymoon!

California Lighthouse

For some of the best views in Aruba, consider holding a small ceremony in front of the California Lighthouse on the northwestern tip of the island. Named after a steamship wrecked on the coast in 1891 (actually the Californian, the very same that refused to answer the distress signals of the legendary Titanic), this landmark draws visitors from across the island. Although the inside of the lighthouse remains closed to exploration, its elevated location offers sweeping views of Aruba’s western coast, where visitors can observe the dramatic crashing waves and endless blue line of the Caribbean Sea. The area surrounding the lighthouse, called Hudishibana, is covered with rocky crags and cacti, and the scenic California Sand Dunes rest nearby. A great Italian restaurant, La Trattoria El Farro Blanco, offers beautiful terraces that take advantage of the coastal scenery, perfect for rehearsal dinners, receptions, or a romantic honeymoon evening.

La Trattoria El Farro Blanco website:

Alto Vista Chapel

For a spiritual experience on the island of Aruba, plan your wedding ceremony for the Alto Vista Chapel, located on the island’s northern coast. This tiny, distinctive yellow church welcomes visitors with an air of quiet tranquility and peacefulness. Enter through the low stone fence and cross the barren ground through several large yellow pews, able to accommodate a larger outside wedding. Inside, a small alter and wooden benches sit on a black and white checked floor, an ode to island simplicity. Constructed in 1750, this was the island’s first Roman Catholic Church, and today the structure draws both tourists and locals with its unassuming, yet somehow mesmerizing atmosphere. Head behind the church and find magnificent ocean views, and take a tranquil moment to enjoy your surroundings, with only the sound of the wind and waves to keep you company. Exchange your vows right near the breathtaking coastal scenery, far from the bustle of the touristy end of Aruba – here, with nothing to interrupt your ceremony, you’ll feel as if time is standing still just for the two of you.

Arikok National Park

Located in northeastern Aruba, Arikok National Park offers approximately 7,907 acres of untouched and protected natural beauty for your destination wedding location, ranging from rocky, rugged hilltops and large natural caves to romantic strips of beach framed with cliffs and open to the Caribbean Sea. Boca Prins and Dos Playa beaches, both popular for their beautiful photo opportunities and ruggedly awesome terrain, are both contained within Arikok National Park. Another popular site, the Natural Pool, consists of a small body of water protected from the waves by rock outcroppings. Reachable only with some effort (usually by 4-wheeler or horseback), it provides an absolutely breathtaking picture backdrop, with the pool framed by boulders and the surrounding Aruban hills.

As most of these destinations require walking, occasionally for quite a distance, skip over them if you bring a large wedding party. These natural sites best lend themselves to small, intimate ceremonies with just the two of you. If you feel like making the trip, the amazing locations make your work well worth it. The park stays open Monday through Sunday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and some weddings may require a park permit, depending on your location and the number of people you bring.
